Welcome to the Central Manitoba Holstein Club! Please take a moment to look around our site. We are a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to bring dairy farmers together in the Central Manitoba region. The Central Club region extends east to Winnipeg and Hwy. 75, west to Hwy. 5, north to Hwy. 50, and south to the Canada - USA border. Our club seeks to include both commercial dairy farmers, as well as those who breed and register purebred Holstein animals. Recent Event & News Dairy Day, January 25, 2012 - at the Carman Community Hall. Our feature speaker this year was Dr. Gerard Cramer, who entertained us with ideas for efficient and effective cow handling. Central 4-H Club Open Show and Club Achievement - July 7-9, 2010 at the Carman Fair. We had a great first show at the fair. Many thanks to our judges, Don Penner and Calvin Fornwald for coming out for those days to judge our cattle. CMHC Dairy Day - Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the Carman Community Hall. The feature speaker was Dan Undersander, forage agronomist from the University of Wisconsin. He spoke about forages for the dairy herd. The Central Club held its annual Summer BBQ at the end of August. We enjoyed one of the last warm days of summer, and had a good turnout. Once again, the pool was a great success. A BIG THANK YOU to Jake Klassen for bringing the barbecue and making sure we all enjoyed some tasty burgers. Thanks Jake - your willingness to help out is much appreciated once again. The Central 4-H Dairy Club has been busy in the past months. On May 7 we held our Club Achievement at the Leyenhorst Farm. A big ThankYou to Jamie Donohoe who came and judged our event! We had a great day, despite some rather chilly temperatures. Our next event was the Carman Fair. This year we set up a display with four 4-H animals and a small slide show. It was a great experience for the club members to take care of the booth, and also to answer questions from fair goers. We hope to participate in the event again next year.
